“Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don’t be afraid.” – Frederick Buechner
I love that quote. With one caveat: Sometimes we are afraid. And that’s normal. Our lives hold so much complexity of ups and downs, joys and sorrows, love and loss…sometimes at the exact same time. Such complexity can be difficult to cope with and can stir up myriad mental, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual challenges. As a therapist, it’s my honor and joy to walk alongside clients as we figure out how to navigate these challenges in healthy ways.
Quick intro: I’m a clinical social worker (LCSWA) interested in creative, interdisciplinary work at intersections of mental health, social justice, and spirituality. I’m committed to anti-oppressive, culturally-sensitive, evidence-based, trauma-informed practice. Professionally, I’m licensed in the state of North Carolina and currently in private practice with Mindful Collaboration. When COVID-19 precautions are lifted at a later time, I’ll be working out of their office in Durham, NC. For the time being, I’m working with clients through a secure, online telehealth platform hosted by SimplePractice and therefore able to see clients located anywhere in NC.
